Can you raise a puppy with another dog and then seperate them?
Rieanna S asked:
I’m 22 years old and live with my parents. My dog (she was 12) recently died and I’m heartbroken. I feel that raising another puppy would help mend my broken heart, but I have a dilema. My parents have two dogs of their own. My concern is, I’ll get my puppy and it will be raised in my parents home by ME for 2 years…. and then I will be out of college and on my own in my own town-home/condo.

I’m worried, however, that my puppy will miss the other two dogs since it will be raised with them. Is it cruel to do this to a dog? Do they even remember after a few weeks? I’m very torn and would like some advice.
Also, I should note that when I move out, I will be getting another dog so that my then 2 year old dog, will have a playmate so they won’t have to be home alone while I’m at work.
Also, my parents have offered to “puppy sit” my future pets when I’m at work, because they’ll be retired by this point, so my dog will still have access at least once a week to his old companions….
